Terms and conditions

These terms apply to all classes, courses, memberships and Kiki Ball tickets provided by Vogue Haus Köln UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Darmstädter Straße 14, 50678 Köln.

§ 1 Scope

These general terms and conditions govern the contractual relationship between Vogue Haus Köln UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (the "Haus") and its participants. Deviating conditions apply only if we have agreed to them in writing.

§ 2 Conclusion of contract

The enquiry form on this website is an invitation to make contact, not a booking. A contract comes about when we confirm a place in writing, or, for drop-in classes, when you pay at the desk. Nothing on this website can be paid for online.

§ 3 Prices and payment

A drop-in class costs €14 and is paid at the desk. The monthly membership costs €65 and is paid by SEPA direct debit on the first working day of each month. The six-week beginner course costs €95 and is paid in full before the first session. All prices include statutory VAT of 19%.

Nobody is turned away for lack of money. A reduced rate can be agreed at the desk or by email; the arrangement is confidential and is not recorded on the participant list.

§ 4 Membership and cancellation

The monthly membership runs for one calendar month and renews automatically. It can be cancelled in text form by the 20th of a month with effect from the end of the following month. There is no minimum term and no joining fee. The right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected (§ 314 BGB).

§ 5 Courses, absences and cancellations

A booked course place can be cancelled free of charge up to seven days before the first session; after that the full fee is due unless the place can be filled. Missed individual sessions are not refunded, but may be made up in an open-level class of the same term where space allows.

If the Haus cancels a session, it is either made up or refunded pro rata. Classes do not run on public holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia or during announced studio closures; these dates are published in the studio and by email at the start of each term.

§ 6 Ball tickets

Tickets for the Kiki Ball are sold at the studio desk and at the door: €12 for spectators, €5 for registered walkers, €25 for the supporter ticket, whose surplus funds free tickets given out at the door. Tickets are transferable but not refundable, except where the ball is cancelled by us, in which case the full price is refunded. Walker registration closes on the date announced for each ball; the panel, not the door staff, decides on late entries.

The decision of the judging panel is final. Scores are announced on the night and published on this website afterwards.

§ 7 House rules and safer space

The Haus is a queer space. Racism, transphobia, homophobia, antisemitism, ableism, fatphobia and harassment of any kind lead to immediate exclusion without refund. Filming and photographing in class require the agreement of everyone in the room. Instructions from teaching staff on the floor are to be followed, above all where they concern safety in dips and floor work.

§ 8 Health and liability

Participation is at your own risk. Participants confirm that they are in a state of health that permits physical training and will inform the teacher of injuries or conditions that affect what they can safely do. The Haus is liable without limitation for injury to life, body and health and for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. For slight negligence it is liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation and only up to the foreseeable damage typical for such a contract.

No liability is accepted for items left in the studio. Lockers are provided; valuables should be kept with you.

§ 9 Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of their country of habitual residence. Should individual provisions be or become invalid, the validity of the remainder is unaffected. Place of jurisdiction for merchants is Köln.
